Adwords Headlines - The Power Of Three

The only way to be sure that you are getting the maximum returns from your pay-per-click campaigns is by experimenting with different adverts and gauging the results.

Of course you should be fully aware of what makes good and bad copy, when you are writing your Adwords adverts. You should apply all the techniques you can muster, such as stressing benefits, using action words, and creating desire, but you will never know whether those will work on this particular day for this particular campaign, till you have tested them out.

I always start by choosing my keywords. Whether I have put the list together myself or used one of the automated keyword generating methods, the keyword list is the inspiration for the advert itself.

Then I carry out these three steps to ensure my adverts have a good chance of getting a decent quality score and appearing in the top 6 display positions.

Step #1 ?Relevance. Always put your keywords in your advert. OK, if you have a long list of phrases, then youre not going to get them all in, but there will probably be three common words which appear in many of the phrases. For example if your list is based around Self Improvement, then many of your keyword phrases will include words like goals, confidence or positive.

Weave those common words into the body and the headline, and dont be afraid of repeating them provided the advert still makes sense. These words will appear in bold when displayed with a relevant search and that helps them to stand out in the list.

Step #2. Old favourites. As well as using the keywords in the advert, it doesnt hurt to state the obvious and use a old , reliable approach. One of the headlines I always test, at the beginning of a campaign is Looking for (keyword)??or Want (keyword)??/p>

Yes, this is obvious, but you would be amazed how many marketers just dont try it. If you think about it, thats exactly what your prospect is indeed looking for. If they type the words self confidence?into the Google search box, thats what theyre looking for. So why not give them immediately what they want? The obvious approach will get you noticed and more importantly, get you clicks.

Step #3. Try two more. My final stage is to write two more headlines over the same body text. These two also apply the rules of relevance and obviousness, but they are variations on the same theme. This is exactly what the Create ad variation?button in Adwords is for. You can create as many as you like and as you get more sophisticated you probably will, but for now three or four is usually enough.

Then all you need to do is have a little patience and wait for the impressions and the clicks to start coming in. Once you have enough, you can start to tweak the best performing ads and run the process again.

Follow these three steps and I guarantee that you will get good solid results to begin your testing.

* Small companies can compete with major rivals selling similar products. But where those major companies are prepared to spend millions, without generating front end sales, just to build a customer list for back end sales, the small guy must work a little harder at finding key words and phrases their bigger rivals haven't noticed or consider too trivial to bother adding to their listings.

Adsense Income - Where Do You Start!

The first thing you need to do for an Adsense website is to choose a niche ?or topic ?for your website.

If this is your first website then its a good idea to make a website about a topic you have some good knowledge or experience with. If you design a website about a topic you know about, you will find it very easy to create lots of good content based on your own knowledge. It can be much easier writing about something you know.

Jot down some ideas for a few pages of content.

Your homepage will be your introduction to the topic. That page will have links to other pages containing more specific information about the topic. Each page on your website will be a sub category to the main topic. For example if you have a website about dog breeds, your homepage will be your introduction page talking about dogs in general. Then your other pages could be separated for each breed of dog, giving more detailed information about the particular breed.

You dont need to have a fancy website, often something plain is better.

You will need to get a domain name and some web hosting. Look around to get a good deal on hosting. If theres a good chance you will be making more than one Adsense website then look for a deal that gives you unlimited domain hosting.

Research

If you dont have enough information from your own knowledge then you will need to do some research on your topic. You can do this through books at home, at the library or over the internet.

You need to have good content. You want your visitors to want to come back to your site. If you content is rubbish, not too many will come back. Good, solid, unique content will keep them coming back and hopefully clicking on your ads.

You also want your adsense ads to match the content on your site, so having a lot of good content will ensure that the ads placed on your site will match your topic.

You will also be favoured better with the search engines if you have good quality content on your site ?and make sure its unique. Get ideas from other sites and articles on the internet but dont copy anything word for word. Always reword things into your own wording.

Fill in your pages with your content and have it displayed nicely and easy to read.

Use good colors on your pages, colors that are easy on the eyes. Often dark backgrounds such as black or navy blue can be quite hard to read and turn away visitors very quickly.

You may also want to choose colors that could benefit the niche of your website, such as green color scheme for a gardening website, or whites for a wedding niche.

Once you have your research done and have added a few good pages of good quality content to your site you can now add your Adsense ads and upload your site to your server.

If you dont see enough income coming in from your ads spend a bit of time tweaking your ads until you get them just right. Also keep on working at building up traffic to your website, the more traffic, the more clicks you will get on your ads.

Car Engine Does Not Crank Over - Auto Repair Tips

I remember years ago a customer of mine called because she was stranded at McDonalds. Her car wouldn't start, it wouldn't even crank over. Luckily I was only about five minutes away and was able to drop by to check her car for her. The battery terminals were after-market, the type that has two 7/16" bolts that clamp over the bare cable end. These are a quick easy repair for the battery cable but sometimes they do loosen over time. That was exactly what had happened in thiscase. I was able to just tighten the terminals where they clamped to the bare cable ends and she was on her way.

A car that doesn't turn over at all, usually has a battery related problem.Many cars are towed to auto repair shops every year due to loose or corroded battery terminals. If the car engine doesn't crank over at all, the first thing to checkis the battery and terminal connections. Here's a quick auto repair tip, turn the lights on and try the horn. If the battery is any good at all this will bea quick preliminary check. If there's no horn and no lights, try wiggling the battery connections. I leave the lights onwhile trying this so I can tell if I'm making a better connection when moving the battery terminals.

Still no luck?A load test with a battery tester is the next step after checking the connections at the battery. Many times a battery will show signs of failure byturning the engine overslowly when it's beginning to fail,this is an earlywarning to have the battery tested. Unfortunatelyother times batteries will just fail with no prior warning. Temperature changes can sometimes reveal a problem with a battery that otherwise may go unnoticed. An increase or decrease of temperaturewill typically send cars in droves to the repair shop or partsstores with sluggishly starting cars. Batteries will need to have a good chargebefore they can be properly tested.Modern battery testers will indicate if the batteryhas a sufficient chargeto be checked.

Alternators that are not charging properly cancausea car to have similar symptoms. It's always a good idea to check the alternator to make sure the output is within the manufacturer's specifications. The parts store or auto repair shops have the test equipmentto check the alternator output for you. They will check theamperage, volts, diode patternand check to see if the alternator has a draw or short that may be excessively drainingthebattery.

Starterscan draw excessive amps or have an open circuit completely. After checking tomake sure a good battery is installed, check the big cable connection at the starter which is the 12v one that comes directly from the battery.Then check at the starter solenoid (the small wire) to see if it is getting power when the ignition is turned to the start position.If power is going to the starter solenoid but the starter is not engaging, more than likely the starter has an open circuit or is binding. Sometimes the starter can be tapped with a hammer while the ignition is in the start position to get the car to start. This is basically to get the car into the shop for starter replacement. I've used this trick many times over the years to keep from having topush the car into my service bay. The startercan also be tested to see if it is creating too much of a draw on the battery. This can happen when the starter begins to to drag or bind and puts too much of a toll on the battery. The amp drawis measured witha battery and electrical system tester to see ifit is excessive.

My tips and trickshavebeen picked up over the years with realhands on experience.
