Internet Marketing - Why Internet Marketing is So Important

When most people first sign up for a business opportunity they are SO excited to get started. They have bought into the hype that all they need to do is sign up with this system and you will start making thousands of dollars in no time at all. But one thing these opportunities fail to mention is how to market your new business opportunity.

Would you place your yellow pages ad in the wrong category? Would you pay thousands of dollars to film a commercial only for it to play when no one is watching TV? Would you put a billboard on a road that no one travels? Would you sell golf equipment to someone who plays baseball? Get the picture?

You have to market your business opportunity to people who are interested in what you have to offer. The number one problem with marketing your online business today is that companies are trying to convince you to buy their generic leads but those leads may not be looking for a business opportunity. Therefore, you have just spent the majority of your budget on useless leads and then you wonder why you aren't making any money.

So how do you market your business opportunity to the right audience?

1. The first thing you need to do is get your own capture page. This is your business! People are tired of seeing the same old generic sites when they are presented with a business opportunity. They can't relate to the person behind the site. If you are going to spend your hard earned money to invest in a business opportunity, would you rather go with a site like everyone else's and not know who your sponsor is or would you rather join with someone you can relate to and feel like they will be there to help you every step of the way?

2. Start a Blog because blogs are really popular on the internet right now. Make your blog informative and just write about how you got started and why you went with the business opportunity that you are currently in. Remember, people relate to people so you would rather have people join your business that are really interested in you and your product. Those people will usually end up being the most productive members of your team. You can blog about your product, talk about its features, the benefits, how it can help others, etc. Be sure to update it on a regular basis.

3. Article marketing is still a very popular way to advertise your product for free. It can position you as an expert in your chosen niche which is really important in convincing others to believe in you and your products. Write about what you have learned since having your own business. Even if you feel you have nothing important to write about, people can relate to others even if it's telling them what not to do.

4. Create a video of you talking about your product, your team or why you got into this industry. Whatever topic you think others may be interested in hearing about. Open an account on YouTube and place all your videos for others to see. You can get an inexpensive webcam to start with and then use Windows Movie Maker to place your website link either in or at the end of your video. It's a free way to make your video more presentable. Just put yourself in your customers shoes and what do you think they would want to know about you, your product or your service.

5. Social Networking has become even more popular online today. Create a profile on MySpace and write about how you got into the business, put your videos on your profile and any other pertinent information you feel others may be interested in. It's a great place to meet others in internet marketing as well.

I hope some of these tips have been helpful in how to promote your business to the right audience. Marketing your business can really be a fun experience.

Holiday Shopping Tips - Gift Shopping in the 21st Century

The holiday season is fast approaching. Before you know it, there will be large crowds of holiday shoppers moving quickly among the stores. Large green and white festive Christmas trees will adorn the walkways and entrances of your favorite malls and stores. You'll see colorful ornaments, lights, reindeer, and many other holiday favorites all around you while you're shopping. So, here's the real question. Where do you start your search for gifts and begin your holiday shopping?

Having worked in retail for over 20 years, I've had a chance to see holiday shopping both in the large retail chain stores and smaller specialty stores. I've had the pleasure of speaking and talking with many holiday shoppers over the years. There always seems to be a consensus that crowds seem to be what causes the most anxiety about holiday shopping. Working retail and being a holiday shopper myself I've come to find out a lot about Christmas shopping over the years. I'd like to share with you some of the things I've found to help you overcome the holiday crowds and help you find that holiday harmony you so justly deserve.

In terms of stores, shopping during the day at the height of the holiday season is just, well crazy. There are large crowds during the day and you'll find that the busiest times seem to be late morning and late afternoon. These are probably the norm for most of the holiday season with the exception of Black Friday of course. If you're unfamiliar with the term, Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving when retail stores start rolling out Christmas, holiday specials and open quite early (5 am or sometimes earlier) and offer door busters and loss leaders to bring shoppers into their stores. Often considered the busiest shopping day of the year, it is in fact second to the Saturday before Christmas when last minute shoppers are able to get out one last time to finish up holiday shopping lists and will present the largest crowds of shoppers during the holiday season.

Shopping in malls and larger retail chains will present the most holiday traffic as these are traditionally the largest concentration of retail stores. This will present the most challenges for you both in shopping and parking. One thought is to ask a family member or friend if they can drive you to the mall, allow you to shop and get those gifts on your list that you need. Cell phones are indeed handy as you can simply call ahead to let the person know you're done and after they've picked you up, offer to treat them to dinner or lunch for their help. It saves you the stress of parking and walking long distances in the parking lot (especially in poor weather such as rain or snow). If you do park at the malls sometimes there are parking areas that are hidden away or seldom used by shoppers. Locate these and use them rather than trying to find a space in the highest traffic areas where parking is tougher to find and to get in and out of.

Another idea is shopping at a specialty retail store. These stores specialize in a particular category or product niche and often have more selection in that one product you're looking for than the mass merchants will be able to provide. These stores are actually great stores that often have dedicated shoppers who frequent them. Ask around to family or friends by telling them what you're looking for and you'll often find someone who knows about a store like this. Because these stores aren't always located with the big mass merchants they're easier to get in and out of. You'll also find salespeople who are "very" knowledgeable about the products in their store since they specialize in that particular product. This can be more helpful to a shopper when you aren't always sure about what gift you're looking for.

Of course in the last ten years online shopping has become quite popular as well. Sometimes harder to find gifts are easier to track down online. Something to consider when shopping online though is the lead time in which to receive your gift. Not every item is in stock and sometimes they are special order. Make a special note of these items and start your online shopping early for the best selection. Nothing could be worse than finding that perfect gift online a few weeks from Christmas and then discover that it will require 4-6 weeks to receive. My advise is shop early online, figure out what stores online have what you want, bookmark them in your browser and find out the lead time on those gifts. Maybe go so far as to including the lead time in the bookmark description so you can remember when you need to order it if you plan on shopping around before making your purchase.

I think online shopping and brick and mortar store shopping is similar to trying to compare apples to oranges. They're similar in description but are quite different when you get a little deeper into them. Is one better than the other? I don't really think that is the case. Each offers a shopper a different range of products that sometimes can't be found by the other. So, each has its own advantages. I do believe that unlike traditional shopping in your city or town where there are specific amount of shoppers in your geographical area. Online shopping opens up shopping to everyone around the world which creates a greater competition by consumers to get the gifts they are looking for. My best advice is shop early and shop smart by scouting the stores for the gifts you're looking for. Just remember, the holidays provide great opportunities to catch up with and to spend time with your family and friends. Don't let holiday shopping become stressful. Simply plan early and you'll find your holidays to fun and stress free.

Business Interruption Insurance - Are the Business' Assets Adequately Covered?

If severe storm damage caused your business to shut down, would you be able to sustain the company while the repairs were being made? If the closure spanned several months would you be able to pay the continuing expenses such as the mortgage or rent, taxes, the salaries of you and your employees, vendor invoices and other bills on top of the repair costs?

Less than half of all businesses have interruption insurance built into their business owner's policy (BOP). Those that don't, often find they do not have enough income to continue to operate the business when a loss is suffered, or, in some cases, they begin to deplete their reserves.

Make Sure You are Fully Covered

Business interruption insurance replaces normal business income when insured losses negatively impact a business's bottom line. It reimburses a company for lost income until the company is able to resume full operations. For instance, if a business is inoperable for a month due to a fire or storm damage, business interruption insurance would typically reimburse the company in the amount of the net income that would have been expected for that same month based on previous history.

When comparing business insurance rates, be sure to check what is covered in the business insurance policy. In some instances, damages resulting from windstorms, earthquakes and floods are covered separately by special policies. If this is the case, you may need to purchase individual insurance for each. If these other policies don't include business interruption insurance, you may want to consider purchasing a separate policy that solely covers business interruption. This is particularly important for businesses located in Florida or the Gulf Coast, where hurricanes can wipe out entire operations. In some cases businesses with special risks may not be able to receive coverage on business interruption in their BOPs, but may still be able to purchase it separately.

Many policies will include some coverage for the lack of profits due to unplanned interruptions in business, such as losses associated with property damage or theft. Business owners who have general liability insurance should not assume, however, that their insurance policy includes business interruption coverage.

The Cost of Operating Without Interruption Insurance

Unforeseen interruptions can also spark extra expenses including rent on another temporary office space, leased furniture and equipment, or overtime paid to employees when trying to speed the recovery process. If a business is not generating income after suffering damages, these additional expenses can put a tremendous strain on finances.

Additionally, as a business owner you might want to consider purchasing business interruption insurance to protect against interruptions that result from a direct loss on someone else's property. For instance, if one of your main suppliers suffers fire damage and is unable to deliver the critical materials that are key to your operation, it could cause a significant interruption.

Business insurance rates vary based on several factors including the size of the business, the scope of work delivered, and number of employees, among other variables. While business insurance coverage can seem costly, it is an expense that is vital to your company. It can safeguard you and your company's assets from a variety of unforeseen damages that may occur. Your insurer should be able to tell you what business insurance coverage will best fit your needs, which will also determine the cost.

In the long run, business insurance coverage that specifically addresses damages will be what helps sustain your company through a disaster and may even save your company from financial hardship or bankruptcy.

Tips On Purchasing An AdSense E-Book

People who are just getting started spend a lot of money on purchasing an AdSense ebook; I know because when I got started with internet marketing I purchased all kinds of ebooks in hopes of finding the magic pill. Needless to say I did not. However I did run into one program that has taught me how to make money with AdSense. So when I purchased an AdSense program I wanted to make sure I got the most of my money. So what do I recommend you look at when purchasing and AdSense ebook or AdSense program? I have listed below some tips on what to look for:

  • Cost effective: Yes you will eventually have to spend some money on educating yourself; however when you are first beginning your business you may not have a lot of money to spend on educational programs. Anyone who is learning how to do anything new must be willing to learn. However how to do you know who to learn from? If a program tells you that you can make AdSense money overnight then you want to stay away from it. Get rich schemes with AdSense programs are out there and you
want to make sure to stay clear of them. It will take work on your part to make money with AdSense; the great thing to know is that there are several people who make a great living from just AdSense alone.
  • Guarantee: when I first started out I was always looking for something I could test drive. I would read all the information and I felt like it actually held its weight in gold I would keep it. If I felt like it was nothing but "hype" I would get a refund. Now I am not telling you just to purchase all these programs and use them and then return them. People have taken a lot of time to develop them and you do not want to always return them for a refund. If you purchase an AdSense ebook or AdSense program and it helps you achieve what you are looking to achieve then keep it and be willing to spend the money to educate you. It will pay for itself in return from the money you will make down the road.
  • Support: You want to make sure that support will be their either through email or forums. All the great AdSense programs will have a forum that you can interact and get information on how to implement their program. You also want to make sure that they do get back with you in a timely manner.

You can make money from AdSense even if you have tried before in the past and have not made any money. There are AdSense programs that do work; be willing to investigate them and learn from people who have had success. If you are willing to follow a path that has been proven and tried you are more likely to see results than attempting to pave your own path.

The Rich Jerk - Other Ways to Make Money From Home!

The research I have done with this program is basically surface. I want to make money just as much as the next guy, but with a little more humility I suppose. I found the Jerk's attitude and arrogance to be overwhelming and annoying. I have looked all over the internet in search of an ultimate wealth package and have tried many home-based businesses in order to find what some people call rich money.

When I stumbled upon "The Rich Jerk" I was very interested at first, because he mentioned filthy rich, which made my ears perk up. Anyone that loves money, knows how great it would be to say they were filthy rich. But as I kept reading the cover page I became disgusted with the fact that this "Jerk" is promising me all the wealth he has and more, but calling me a loser in the process. I have played sports and I understand the call you loser technique to scare you into breaking down. But for me as an intrigued customer it was hard to be beaten down by someone and then expected to buy his products.

This just isn't the sales in which I am used to nor do I want to practice. I have been interested in online marketing and home based businesses for some time now. I have done my fair share of research with many on the internet. I really don't feel as if this is something or someone whom I want to be associated with. When it comes to making money I am very sure he makes a lot, but I don't agree with the way he flaunts it nor the way he makes himself look in the process. Plus to buy his program it only cost $10, due to other experiences I really believe you get what you pay for. There is absolutely nothing special about this product that you can't find somewhere else. All of the perks that he displays and offers you, someone else is doing the same thing.

At the very end of his pitch he tells you that if you can't afford the $10 dollars to sign up with his program then you don't deserve his help and to go on with your miserable existence. This is not how anyone wants to be talked too. I really want to say try this system, but I can't find it in myself to tell anyone to try it. If you want to be talked down to and belittled then join the military and enjoy boot camp.

How To Think & Grow Rich - Learn to Live Your Dreams

A number of years ago I began to think about my life and how I wanted it to be instead of how it currently was. Not that I had anything to complain about, I had a well paid job in the corporate world, a nice car, a nice home, good friends and a wonderful family. But life was like living on a treadmill just going round and round, nothing changing. When I sat down and thought about it I accepted it was a good life but not as fulfilling as I wanted it to be & it was very routine.

One day I sat down and thought about what I truly did want to be doing. I decided that it was time to start living my dreams instead of just dreaming them inside my mind. I wanted to become a Complementary Therapist & instead of selling man made chemical drugs as I was at the time. I wanted to help people using natural methods and help improve the quality of their lives & to help them to take back some of the responsibility for their lives. I wanted to empower myself & in doing this be able to help others to do the same.

So, I sat down & thought about what I wanted. I wrote down on paper just what I wanted to become & I believed that I was already becoming it & guess what? Magic began to happen. I began to attract into my life exactly what I wanted. I found courses and teachers, clients just appeared to find me, new friends who were like minded began to appear and my income just kept rising. The best thing of all about this was that I was earning good money but on my terms doing something I absolutely loved. It never felt like work there were no Monday morning blues, no trying to think of excuses to get out of doing things, just motivation to be doing more of what I was doing.

Over the years if I needed a new focus then I just sat down and thought about where I wanted to be going & the 'signs' would appear to guide me there.

It was less than 2 years ago that I decided I wanted to free up more of my time. Therapies are great but can be very time consuming and it was time to be looking for something less intense. I now wanted to enjoy therapies as a hobby rather than my main form of income. I have been 'unemployable' in the conventional sense for many years so another 'job' was never an option. I was searching for something that involved me working from home on my terms. Not only did it have to free up my time it had to be very profitable financially & it had to be something where I could continue to help people enrich their lives & their experiences & to achieve success like me.

So, yet again I put this down onto paper in a vague loose sort of way. I was not entirely certain what it was that I wanted to do but I knew that by asking for help that I would be shown a way. One day not very long after this I saw a pop up advert on the internet. I clicked on it as it resonated with me. I knew immediately this was my next step, it was perfect for me on every count. It ticked all the boxes. It allowed me to create more time for me & my family, it allowed me to earn far more money than I previously dreamed would be possible, it allowed me to help others to do the same.
Although I have used this process for many years I still marvel at the magic of attraction & manifestation. Over these years I have unconsciously done what Napoleon Hill teaches in his famous book 'Think & Grow Rich.'

So how did I do this?

I began with a single thought - I wanted to be doing something better, different & more profitable with my life. Not only that, I wanted to be able to achieve this using less of my time and energy than before. I wanted my time free for my family so that we could be doing even more fun things. On top of this I wanted to be able to help others achieve success. Where possible I was very specific.

I kept these thoughts as a focus in my mind and then I wrote them down onto paper I asked for help and I put a time frame onto it. The action of putting pen to paper is such a powerful boost to the energy behind those thoughts. It propels them & is the process that turns them into reality. Not only did I have the thoughts and transfer them to paper but I also had the burning desire & determination in my mind and whole being that I was going to achieve this and more.

I also stated that in getting what I wanted it was not going to be a purely selfish act. Part of my master plan was to be able to help others to achieve their dreams and goals too.

I asked for this to happen within a time frame.

Although I did not yet have a plan to put into action I did focus very strongly on knowing that when the opportunity came my way I would recognise it and act upon it immediately.

All this was written down and placed in a prominent position where I read it several times a day and I truly believed it was coming to me.

Failure was never an option, in fact the concept of failure never even entered my mind. All you need to focus on is this small formula.

Faith mixed with Desire + Belief = Result!
