This is one example of the statement that "shortcuts no longer do the trick like they used to."

Now - can I say that you can start working online and instantly earn enough to live off of?

Unfortunately I can not say that. It may or may not happen to some. It hasn't happened to me or anyone I know in the field of Internet Marketing.

So why bother learning how to earn money online or work from home in Internet Marketing?

Well, it may take long to get there, but when you do, it is really worth it.

If you start off with honest marketing strategies, good research, and a sensible tactics, and if you work on your projects regularly and consistently, you can absolutely reach the point of earning a full-time income online while working from home.

You could realistically even become like some Internet Marketers and bloggers, who earn $10,000 or more per month. Some even become millionaires but I won't get into that now. Different people have different amounts of success.

An advantage of working online is that you are not tied to a fixed income or an hourly wage. Another advantage is that your income is virtually unlimited. You do not have to deal with overhead costs, large start-up fees, a payroll full of employees, and the like.

But your potential is huge. Well - what if you had a website, and one day that website received tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of visitors each month? Just in ad revenue that website could earn many thousands of dollars per month. What if it grew exponentially and began to get millions of visitors per month? You get the idea.

If you want to get started at earning money online and you truly wish to succeed, I suggest:

1. Learn how to earn money online from an honest and inexpensive source. Don't pay hundreds or thousands of dollars for memberships or training, when you are just starting out. It isn't necessary and it's a waste of time.

2. Avoid get-rich-quick messages, confusing people, promises of "getting paid lots of money without having to work."

3. Do good keyword research before you start. Better two weeks spent on keyword research than two years spent on the wrong keywords. Learn how to do keyword research.

4. Work systematically. Apply tried and true methods. Don't disperse off into many directions at once, but finish what you start.

5. Make friends with other honest Internet Marketers. Share ideas and advice with them.

6. Provide good service. Give something in exchange for the revenue you intend to generate. This is far more effective than trying to trick or cheat the money into your bank account. A website, or any service offered online (if it is any good) provides some kind of service - even if it that service is only to provide information to those who need it.

7. Persist, plan, and strategize.

The funny thing is, it isn't even complicated or difficult. It's made to look like that because there are so many distractions, diversions, and dishonest methods being used and promoted. Earning money online is actually easy - but you have to learn how to do it. And that doesn't always happen overnight. Is it hard to learn? No. It's not nuclear physics. It's arguably one of the most user-friendly subjects I've ever encountered.

The more you learn, and the more you implement what you learn, the better your income potential will become. The sooner you start, the better your chances of success.

How to Install WordPress on Your Website

To install WordPress on your own server, you will need to download it from the WordPress.com site. Then, you use the FTP program of your choice to upload it the host site. If you happen to have Cpanel, you can use Fantastico to set up all your databases for the site. Just look in under the Fantastico icon in Cpanal in the Blogs or "Content Management Systems" area. It should list WordPress, along with a variety of different blog formats. This is a simple one-click installation and makes for a very efficient and quick setup. In total about a minute.

If you choose to install it manually, it won't take much longer - about five minutes. Since you will be flipping multiple web sites, you have to start to be organized by keeping track of all your databases and database names. You also want some way to keep track of each web site user names and passwords.

One way to do this is to buy an old-fashioned Rolodex and add the name of the web site at the top of an index card entry under the correct alphabetical letter. Then, add the relevant information for each web site on that card, from user names and passwords to anything else you want to remember. Then, when you can't remember the user name or password but have the web site indexed in your bookmarks, you can easily look for that web site name and find the right card to get you going when you are stumped momentarily.

If you are installing things manually, you will be able to tell what information you need to write down as you go. If you use Fantastico, the process won't be as obvious, but that doesn't mean you can't get the information by having it mailed to you afterward.

Here are some tips to get the installation to run smoothly:

- Use the public_html directory
By installing the WordPress blog to that particular directory, people will be led to the web site when they type in your domain name in the URL address locator.

- Fill in the title and tag line
Some people take forever to figure out what to put in the title. It's especially important if you're trying to optimize your blog for SEO. But, actually that's the reason it doesn't be as hard as some people make it. If you've done your research with the Google Keywords Tool you already know some great keywords that can be used to populate the title and tag line.

- Delete all extraneous information
WordPress will fill in some sample posts to get you started. You will need to go in and delete these. All you have to do is go to Manage Posts and then choose to delete any post you don't want.

- Add an interesting theme
There are so many different WordPress themes available all over the Internet. WordPress offers its own themes to download and use too at www.WordPress.org/extend/themes In order to install a theme, you have to put it in the wp-content/themes directory. You will have to use the FTP program to put the theme into the right folder. After that you will have to open the WordPress admin panel and apply it to the site.

- Change the PermaLink URL
You want to make the PermaLink search engine friendly by tying them to the post name. WordPress, straight out of the box, assigns a page number and uses that as a suffix to the PermaLink. This is not good SEO practice, so you need to modify it. You will have to log into the admin area and got to Settings>PermaLink and then choose custom to change it. The custom setting should be the following code: /%postname%/ . After you save, WordPress will give you some code that you will also need to enter into the site's .htaccess file. This is a security file that can be edited by downloading it, opening it in a text editor and inserting the code. Then uploading it once again. Or, you can use Cpanel to edit the .htaccess file.

One thing you should remember when you are doing WordPress installations for multiple web sites to use different themes. If you use only one theme and your prospective buyers take a look at more than one of your sites, they will come off like cookie-cutter sites, and no one values mass produced content or looks. By choosing a different theme for each site, you make each site look like an original, even if you've used the same process to create all of them.

People with Internet and web experience of all levels have worked to make sure that their websites, web service accounts and browsers were as safe as they could be from computer hackers. The holiday season is fast approaching. Before you know it, there will be large crowds of holiday shoppers moving quickly among the stores. Large green and white festive Christmas trees will adorn the walkways and entrances of your favorite malls and stores. You'll see colorful ornaments, lights, reindeer, and many other holiday favorites all around you while you're shopping. So, here's the real question. Where do you start your search for gifts and begin your holiday shopping?

Having worked in retail for over 20 years, I've had a chance to see holiday shopping both in the large retail chain stores and smaller specialty stores. I've had the pleasure of speaking and talking with many holiday shoppers over the years. There always seems to be a consensus that crowds seem to be what causes the most anxiety about holiday shopping. Working retail and being a holiday shopper myself I've come to find out a lot about Christmas shopping over the years. I'd like to share with you some of the things I've found to help you overcome the holiday crowds and help you find that holiday harmony you so justly deserve.

In terms of stores, shopping during the day at the height of the holiday season is just, well crazy. There are large crowds during the day and you'll find that the busiest times seem to be late morning and late afternoon. These are probably the norm for most of the holiday season with the exception of Black Friday of course. If you're unfamiliar with the term, Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving when retail stores start rolling out Christmas, holiday specials and open quite early (5 am or sometimes earlier) and offer door busters and loss leaders to bring shoppers into their stores. Often considered the busiest shopping day of the year, it is in fact second to the Saturday before Christmas when last minute shoppers are able to get out one last time to finish up holiday shopping lists and will present the largest crowds of shoppers during the holiday season.

Shopping in malls and larger retail chains will present the most holiday traffic as these are traditionally the largest concentration of retail stores. This will present the most challenges for you both in shopping and parking. One thought is to ask a family member or friend if they can drive you to the mall, allow you to shop and get those gifts on your list that you need. Cell phones are indeed handy as you can simply call ahead to let the person know you're done and after they've picked you up, offer to treat them to dinner or lunch for their help. It saves you the stress of parking and walking long distances in the parking lot (especially in poor weather such as rain or snow). If you do park at the malls sometimes there are parking areas that are hidden away or seldom used by shoppers. Locate these and use them rather than trying to find a space in the highest traffic areas where parking is tougher to find and to get in and out of.

Another idea is shopping at a specialty retail store. These stores specialize in a particular category or product niche and often have more selection in that one product you're looking for than the mass merchants will be able to provide. These stores are actually great stores that often have dedicated shoppers who frequent them. Ask around to family or friends by telling them what you're looking for and you'll often find someone who knows about a store like this. Because these stores aren't always located with the big mass merchants they're easier to get in and out of. You'll also find salespeople who are "very" knowledgeable about the products in their store since they specialize in that particular product. This can be more helpful to a shopper when you aren't always sure about what gift you're looking for.

Of course in the last ten years online shopping has become quite popular as well. Sometimes harder to find gifts are easier to track down online. Something to consider when shopping online though is the lead time in which to receive your gift. Not every item is in stock and sometimes they are special order. Make a special note of these items and start your online shopping early for the best selection. Nothing could be worse than finding that perfect gift online a few weeks from Christmas and then discover that it will require 4-6 weeks to receive. My advise is shop early online, figure out what stores online have what you want, bookmark them in your browser and find out the lead time on those gifts. Maybe go so far as to including the lead time in the bookmark description so you can remember when you need to order it if you plan on shopping around before making your purchase.

I think online shopping and brick and mortar store shopping is similar to trying to compare apples to oranges. They're similar in description but are quite different when you get a little deeper into them. Is one better than the other? I don't really think that is the case. Each offers a shopper a different range of products that sometimes can't be found by the other. So, each has its own advantages. I do believe that unlike traditional shopping in your city or town where there are specific amount of shoppers in your geographical area. Online shopping opens up shopping to everyone around the world which creates a greater competition by consumers to get the gifts they are looking for. My best advice is shop early and shop smart by scouting the stores for the gifts you're looking for. Just remember, the holidays provide great opportunities to catch up with and to spend time with your family and friends. Don't let holiday shopping become stressful. Simply plan early and you'll find your holidays to fun and stress free.

One day I sat down and thought about what I truly did want to be doing. I decided that it was time to start living my dreams instead of just dreaming them inside my mind. I wanted to become a Complementary Therapist & instead of selling man made chemical drugs as I was at the time. I wanted to help people using natural methods and help improve the quality of their lives & to help them to take back some of the responsibility for their lives. I wanted to empower myself & in doing this be able to help others to do the same.

So, I sat down & thought about what I wanted. I wrote down on paper just what I wanted to become & I believed that I was already becoming it & guess what? Magic began to happen. I began to attract into my life exactly what I wanted. I found courses and teachers, clients just appeared to find me, new friends who were like minded began to appear and my income just kept rising. The best thing of all about this was that I was earning good money but on my terms doing something I absolutely loved. It never felt like work there were no Monday morning blues, no trying to think of excuses to get out of doing things, just motivation to be doing more of what I was doing.

Over the years if I needed a new focus then I just sat down and thought about where I wanted to be going & the 'signs' would appear to guide me there.

It was less than 2 years ago that I decided I wanted to free up more of my time. Therapies are great but can be very time consuming and it was time to be looking for something less intense. I now wanted to enjoy therapies as a hobby rather than my main form of income. I have been 'unemployable' in the conventional sense for many years so another 'job' was never an option. I was searching for something that involved me working from home on my terms. Not only did it have to free up my time it had to be very profitable financially & it had to be something where I could continue to help people enrich their lives & their experiences & to achieve success like me.

So, yet again I put this down onto paper in a vague loose sort of way. I was not entirely certain what it was that I wanted to do but I knew that by asking for help that I would be shown a way. One day not very long after this I saw a pop up advert on the internet. I clicked on it as it resonated with me. I knew immediately this was my next step, it was perfect for me on every count. It ticked all the boxes. It allowed me to create more time for me & my family, it allowed me to earn far more money than I previously dreamed would be possible, it allowed me to help others to do the same.
Although I have used this process for many years I still marvel at the magic of attraction & manifestation. Over these years I have unconsciously done what Napoleon Hill teaches in his famous book 'Think & Grow Rich.'

So how did I do this?

I began with a single thought - I wanted to be doing something better, different & more profitable with my life. Not only that, I wanted to be able to achieve this using less of my time and energy than before. I wanted my time free for my family so that we could be doing even more fun things. On top of this I wanted to be able to help others achieve success. Where possible I was very specific.

I kept these thoughts as a focus in my mind and then I wrote them down onto paper I asked for help and I put a time frame onto it. The action of putting pen to paper is such a powerful boost to the energy behind those thoughts. It propels them & is the process that turns them into reality. Not only did I have the thoughts and transfer them to paper but I also had the burning desire & determination in my mind and whole being that I was going to achieve this and more.

I also stated that in getting what I wanted it was not going to be a purely selfish act. Part of my master plan was to be able to help others to achieve their dreams and goals too.

I asked for this to happen within a time frame.

Although I did not yet have a plan to put into action I did focus very strongly on knowing that when the opportunity came my way I would recognise it and act upon it immediately.

All this was written down and placed in a prominent position where I read it several times a day and I truly believed it was coming to me.

Failure was never an option, in fact the concept of failure never even entered my mind. All you need to focus on is this small formula.

Adwords Headlines - The Power Of Three

The only way to be sure that you are getting the maximum returns from your pay-per-click campaigns is by experimenting with different adverts and gauging the results.

Of course you should be fully aware of what makes good and bad copy, when you are writing your Adwords adverts. You should apply all the techniques you can muster, such as stressing benefits, using action words, and creating desire, but you will never know whether those will work on this particular day for this particular campaign, till you have tested them out.

I always start by choosing my keywords. Whether I have put the list together myself or used one of the automated keyword generating methods, the keyword list is the inspiration for the advert itself.

Then I carry out these three steps to ensure my adverts have a good chance of getting a decent quality score and appearing in the top 6 display positions.

Step #1 ?Relevance. Always put your keywords in your advert. OK, if you have a long list of phrases, then youre not going to get them all in, but there will probably be three common words which appear in many of the phrases. For example if your list is based around Self Improvement, then many of your keyword phrases will include words like goals, confidence or positive.

Weave those common words into the body and the headline, and dont be afraid of repeating them provided the advert still makes sense. These words will appear in bold when displayed with a relevant search and that helps them to stand out in the list.

Step #2. Old favourites. As well as using the keywords in the advert, it doesnt hurt to state the obvious and use a old , reliable approach. One of the headlines I always test, at the beginning of a campaign is Looking for (keyword)??or Want (keyword)??/p>

Yes, this is obvious, but you would be amazed how many marketers just dont try it. If you think about it, thats exactly what your prospect is indeed looking for. If they type the words self confidence?into the Google search box, thats what theyre looking for. So why not give them immediately what they want? The obvious approach will get you noticed and more importantly, get you clicks.

Step #3. Try two more. My final stage is to write two more headlines over the same body text. These two also apply the rules of relevance and obviousness, but they are variations on the same theme. This is exactly what the Create ad variation?button in Adwords is for. You can create as many as you like and as you get more sophisticated you probably will, but for now three or four is usually enough.

Then all you need to do is have a little patience and wait for the impressions and the clicks to start coming in. Once you have enough, you can start to tweak the best performing ads and run the process again.

Follow these three steps and I guarantee that you will get good solid results to begin your testing.

Adsense Income - Where Do You Start!

The first thing you need to do for an Adsense website is to choose a niche ?or topic ?for your website.

If this is your first website then its a good idea to make a website about a topic you have some good knowledge or experience with. If you design a website about a topic you know about, you will find it very easy to create lots of good content based on your own knowledge. It can be much easier writing about something you know.

Jot down some ideas for a few pages of content.

Your homepage will be your introduction to the topic. That page will have links to other pages containing more specific information about the topic. Each page on your website will be a sub category to the main topic. For example if you have a website about dog breeds, your homepage will be your introduction page talking about dogs in general. Then your other pages could be separated for each breed of dog, giving more detailed information about the particular breed.

You dont need to have a fancy website, often something plain is better.

You will need to get a domain name and some web hosting. Look around to get a good deal on hosting. If theres a good chance you will be making more than one Adsense website then look for a deal that gives you unlimited domain hosting.

Research

If you dont have enough information from your own knowledge then you will need to do some research on your topic. You can do this through books at home, at the library or over the internet.

You need to have good content. You want your visitors to want to come back to your site. If you content is rubbish, not too many will come back. Good, solid, unique content will keep them coming back and hopefully clicking on your ads.

You also want your adsense ads to match the content on your site, so having a lot of good content will ensure that the ads placed on your site will match your topic.

You will also be favoured better with the search engines if you have good quality content on your site ?and make sure its unique. Get ideas from other sites and articles on the internet but dont copy anything word for word. Always reword things into your own wording.

Fill in your pages with your content and have it displayed nicely and easy to read.

Use good colors on your pages, colors that are easy on the eyes. Often dark backgrounds such as black or navy blue can be quite hard to read and turn away visitors very quickly.

You may also want to choose colors that could benefit the niche of your website, such as green color scheme for a gardening website, or whites for a wedding niche.

Once you have your research done and have added a few good pages of good quality content to your site you can now add your Adsense ads and upload your site to your server.

If you dont see enough income coming in from your ads spend a bit of time tweaking your ads until you get them just right. Also keep on working at building up traffic to your website, the more traffic, the more clicks you will get on your ads.

Car Engine Does Not Crank Over - Auto Repair Tips

I remember years ago a customer of mine called because she was stranded at McDonalds. Her car wouldn't start, it wouldn't even crank over. Luckily I was only about five minutes away and was able to drop by to check her car for her. The battery terminals were after-market, the type that has two 7/16" bolts that clamp over the bare cable end. These are a quick easy repair for the battery cable but sometimes they do loosen over time. That was exactly what had happened in thiscase. I was able to just tighten the terminals where they clamped to the bare cable ends and she was on her way.

A car that doesn't turn over at all, usually has a battery related problem.Many cars are towed to auto repair shops every year due to loose or corroded battery terminals. If the car engine doesn't crank over at all, the first thing to checkis the battery and terminal connections. Here's a quick auto repair tip, turn the lights on and try the horn. If the battery is any good at all this will bea quick preliminary check. If there's no horn and no lights, try wiggling the battery connections. I leave the lights onwhile trying this so I can tell if I'm making a better connection when moving the battery terminals.

Still no luck?A load test with a battery tester is the next step after checking the connections at the battery. Many times a battery will show signs of failure byturning the engine overslowly when it's beginning to fail,this is an earlywarning to have the battery tested. Unfortunatelyother times batteries will just fail with no prior warning. Temperature changes can sometimes reveal a problem with a battery that otherwise may go unnoticed. An increase or decrease of temperaturewill typically send cars in droves to the repair shop or partsstores with sluggishly starting cars. Batteries will need to have a good chargebefore they can be properly tested.Modern battery testers will indicate if the batteryhas a sufficient chargeto be checked.

Alternators that are not charging properly cancausea car to have similar symptoms. It's always a good idea to check the alternator to make sure the output is within the manufacturer's specifications. The parts store or auto repair shops have the test equipmentto check the alternator output for you. They will check theamperage, volts, diode patternand check to see if the alternator has a draw or short that may be excessively drainingthebattery.

Starterscan draw excessive amps or have an open circuit completely. After checking tomake sure a good battery is installed, check the big cable connection at the starter which is the 12v one that comes directly from the battery.Then check at the starter solenoid (the small wire) to see if it is getting power when the ignition is turned to the start position.If power is going to the starter solenoid but the starter is not engaging, more than likely the starter has an open circuit or is binding. Sometimes the starter can be tapped with a hammer while the ignition is in the start position to get the car to start. This is basically to get the car into the shop for starter replacement. I've used this trick many times over the years to keep from having topush the car into my service bay. The startercan also be tested to see if it is creating too much of a draw on the battery. This can happen when the starter begins to to drag or bind and puts too much of a toll on the battery. The amp drawis measured witha battery and electrical system tester to see ifit is excessive.

My tips and trickshavebeen picked up over the years with realhands on experience.
